DAY 2: Disney Cruise 2011 (Mickey Pool and Captain's Evening!)

After a fun-filled morning with our Disney friends, we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and head up for the Pool Deck (Deck 9).

After we all cleaned up, we put on our Cruise Ship Best and got ready for the Captain's Evening. We began the night by going to the show "The Golden Mickeys," the Disney Award Show featuring even more of our Disney friends! But, of course, not before running into a couple along the way...

After the show, we congregated down in the Lobby Atrium and met Captain Thor, Captain of the Disney Wonder!

We at dinner at Parrot Cay, the same restaurant we'd had breakfast.

Deep-Fried Cheese Ravioli

Gloria impressed Wyatt by making him a rose out of his paper menu!

When we got back to our stateroom, we found another towel animal. This time, we were left an elephant!

Happy Sailing!

DAY 2: Disney Cruise 2011 (Characters!)

First thing on our agenda Monday morning was a Character Breakfast! We met our waitstaff at Parrot Cay, an island-themed restaurant. While waiting to be seated, Wyatt found a new friend in Tinkerbell!

Just as we were finishing eating, some of our favorite Disney friends stopped by to say hi and welcome us aboard the Disney Wonder.

At this point, Hallie was none too impressed by Disney Characters.

After breakfast, Wyatt put on his best pirate's suit and headed to the upper deck to meet Captain Hook!

And while Wyatt had decided a pirate's life was definitely for him, Hallie twirled her way downstairs to meet some of her favorite Disney Princesses.

... but not before snacking on more Fruit Loops!

And look who we ran into on our way back to the stateroom...

... DONALD DUCK!

DAY 1: Disney Cruise 2011

Hello, friends and family!

We are finally Home, Sweet Home from our fabulous Disney Cruise! We had a fun-filled eight days and seven nights cruising the Mexican Riviera and can't wait to share our experience with you! We'll be sharing our vacation day-by-day to stretch out our pictures and stories.

Enjoy!

After driving to Santa Clarita the evening before, we woke up on Sunday morning ready to hit the road for the last stretch of driving before arriving at the San Pedro Port to board the Disney Wonder. We (re)packed our overnight bags, grabbed some breakfast, and off we were!

We arrived to the port at around 11:30am - about an hour and a half before boarding time - but exhausted most of that time simply unloading our luggage and crossing the parking lot to the Disney Cruise Line boarding area.

We checked our passports, received our "Key to the World" cards, and even had a chance to meet Mickey Mouse!

Seeing the Disney Wonder for the first time was incredible. The detail in the floors, the walls, the signage - every part of the ship said "Disney!"

Hallie's Snack of Choice: Fruit Loops

We headed straight for our stateroom to wait for our luggage to arrive - Fortunately, it all did!

It wasn't long after unpacking our luggage, conducting a self-tour of the ship, and participating in the "should our ship sink" drill that it was time for dinner. Our first assigned restaurant was called the Animator's Palate. Each restaurant on the Disney Wonder has something special about it. At AP, the walls, ceilings, columns, and even our restaurant staff's uniform, start off the meal in black and white.

Black Bean Chipotle Cakes with Brown Rice and Salsa... Yummy!

Throughout the meal, the decor began to change color and, eventually, looked like this:

Stacey (Jamaica) and Gloria (Peru) - Our amazing restaurant staff!

On our way back to the room after dinner, we ran into a dance party happening on the 3rd floor. In true Frazier fashion, Wyatt and Hallie couldn't resist busting a few moves before bedtime!

...And waiting for us back in the room was the cruise traditional towel-made octopus and the next day's itinerary.

Until tomorrow...
